With 25 years of travel industry experience, Stewart Alvarez serves as Vice President, Strategic Planning & Business Development, for Amadeus North America. In this strategic role, Mr. Alvarez is responsible for evaluating and implementing business opportunities for Amadeus in the North American marketplace across all customer channels. Mr. Alvarez also serves as an extension of Amadeus’ global corporate strategy team in Madrid, supporting global corporate strategy efforts directly related to North America in the areas of strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions and business development.
Mr. Alvarez also plays a direct role in airline negotiations supporting the overall Distribution and IT strategies as well as the ongoing evolution of the GDS commercial model.
Previously at Amadeus North America, Mr. Alvarez was Vice President, Strategic Business Development. Before that, he served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for ICSAT, (International Computer Services and Advice for Travel), a world leader in software solutions for the travel industry and an Amadeus partner.
Mr. Alvarez was previously with System One (Amadeus) in a series of advancing positions in customer support, technology, sales and marketing. His career began in the travel industry in 1985, when he first joined Eastern Airlines as a sales agent.
