UGANDA
April 1st 2009 was the date which Kenya Airways, KLM, Brussels Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines reduced their commissions to 1% and it was no April Foolís joke. Fortunately for the Uganda market, Amadeus in collaboration with the TUGATA (The Uganda Association of Travel Agents) has been active over the past 6 months in preparing the agencies for the new business model and the Amadeus Service Fee Manager has been deployed among the top 10 agencies so far with more coming on board.
We are very pleased to welcome Atlas Travel to the Amadeus East Africa family as one of our latest SSTA clients. We look forward to a long lasting and fruitful collaboration with them.
TANZANIA
Amadeus Tanzania is pleased to welcome to the team Renatus Kyakalaba, the new Sales and Marketing Manager. Renatus will be responsible for driving sales & marketing activities in Tanzania. Also joining us in the IT department is Isiaka Katundu who will support in the day to day IT issues in the Tanzanian market.
Amadeus Tanzania recently conducted a successful conversion course for the travel agency community in Mwanza. This is In line with the growth objectives for Tanzania for 2009. We welcome all the new agencies to the Amadeus family and wish them success.
KENYA
The Amadeus East Africa regional office is also pleased to welcome Ms. Christine Njango as the new Sales Administrator. Christineís role will be to handle the SSTA clients portfolio as well as act as the liaison between the sales and technical departments. This will ensure efficiency in the delivery of services.
RWANDA & BURUNDI
Amadeus is very pleased to welcome Easy Travel, Changa, Traser and International Travel Agency (ITA) to the to the Amadeus East Africa family in Rwanda & Manaf, Nitra, Skyjet, Dynamic, Fantastic, Isange Travel Agency, Voyage international, Afrique Business & Tourisme and Companie de Transport du Comesa in Burundi.
