Amadeus completes the mass migration of System One customers to Amadeus and becomes the world's largest global distribution system.

More than 183,000 travel agency and airline sales office terminals worldwide are now connected to Amadeus. Agents can quickly and easily make airline, car and hotel bookings with almost 480 airlines, over 60 car rental companies and more than 45,000 hotel properties, as well as a full range of other travel services.

Amadeus is also the first GDS to be awarded ISO 9002 certification by proving its adherence to internationally recognised quality standards.

Amadeus launches Follow the Sun, to give travel agencies and providers around the world full-time customer service and help desk support from centres in Nice, Miami and Bangkok.
 
Amadeus introduces a suite of products for corporations, including the browser-based Corporate Traveller and SAP Travel Management, which is fully integrated within SAP's finance and human resources modules.
 
Amadeus processes one million bookings in a single day for the first time.

New NMCs are opened in Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Bulgaria, France, Malaysia, Singapore, Honduras, Russia and Sri Lanka.
