VP Western Europe, Middle East and Africa (WEMEA)

Angel Gallego  

Angel was appointed VP Western Europe, Middle East and Africa in April, 2010.  In this role, he is responsible for managing the new region called Western Europe, Middle East & Africa (WEMEA).  The region is made of Spain & Portugal, France, UK & Ireland, Benelux and Italy; the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) regional hub and the MENA ACOs, and Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) ACOs.  He reports to the Executive VP Commercial.
 
Previously, Angel was Director of Western Europe from 2006.  He managed the Western Europe ACOs and regional teams as well as addressed the wide variety of country and business issues across the region.

Angel joined Amadeus in December 2000 as Director of Latin America, a position he held until 2006.  In this role, he was accountable for all Amadeus business in the region managing ACO and central resources dedicated to the region.

Before joining Amadeus, he worked for American Express from 1995 as a Marketing Executive for the Spanish market and was quickly promoted to Senior Marketing Executive, heading up the Corporate Services Department.  By 1998 he had risen to a pan-European marketing role based in London.
 
Angel graduated in 1992 from the University of Madrid with a Degree in Law, and also holds an MBA from the EOI (Escuela de Organización Industrial).
