Amadeus announces that it has appointed Rajiv Rajian to lead its Travel Channels business in the Americas. Rajian, who adds the regional leadership to his current global responsibility as EVP of Business Travel Agencies, is to replace Scott Gutz who is leaving Amadeus to become global CEO of Monster, the leading HR solutions company.
Rajian, based in Dallas, will now lead the Travel Channels business across North, Central and South America and the Caribbean. He joined Amadeus in 2016 from Sabre, where his twenty years included global leadership roles in sales and account management, mergers and acquisitions, product marketing and media solutions.
Gutz will remain with Amadeus until early July to ensure a smooth transition to new leadership. Amadeus will be recruiting a replacement for Gutz’s other role as the Head of Amadeus’ Online Travel business.
Decius Valmorbida, SVP Travel Channels at Amadeus, said: “Scott Gutz has made a huge contribution to Amadeus in his 17 years with us. He has led the transformation of our business in North America, which is now an important and growing market for Amadeus. We are delighted to have a seasoned and talented individual like Rajiv to take over, and we’re confident he will build on the foundations Scott has left and take the business forward. Obviously we’re sorry to see Scott go, but we’re pleased that he has such a great opportunity and wish him every future success.”
Rajiv Rajian said: “Amadeus has made significant progress in the Americas, and I’m excited to lead the talented team and growing business we have here. Scott has done a great job and I’m looking forward to working with our customers and partners to continue this growth.”
Scott Gutz said: “Leaving Amadeus will be bittersweet. I’ve spent a good portion of my career here and have been proud to lead an exceptional team and a tremendous business through exciting times of growth. After having the opportunity to work closely with Rajiv, I know he’s the right leader to take Amadeus’ Travel Channels business to the next level in these dynamic regions.”
