Open Source License Compendium (OSLiC)
Enabling the Open Source community find a reliable way to achieve full license compliance
OSLiC: An overview
OSLiC aims to create a reliable source of information on Open Source licenses, and helps members of the Open Source community use these licenses in a compliant manner. It made its first appearance at the Legal & Licensing Workshop 2013 in Amsterdam, Netherlands, with further updates presented in Barcelona in 2016.
Why reinvent the wheel... OSLiC offers a single reliable way to navigate through the jungle of Open Source Licenses, rather than having users search for the best specific solution repeatedly.
OSLiC seeks to address this gap. It provides developers, project managers, legal experts and others who might need such information, a single, reliable and easily accessible document to easily navigate the maze of Open Source licenses.
With OSLiC, members of the Open Source community now have the necessary information contained in user-friendly instructions (to-do lists) that explain how users can comply with the legal terms of usage surrounding Open Source code and tools, without having to become license experts themselves.
Amadeus and OSLiC
Amadeus is also working on a sister project, OSCAd, a web-based form based on information from OSLiC.
