Donations will help fund UNICEF’s “Schools for Asia” initiative which supports education for the most vulnerable children in 11 countries in Asia.
“We want to support educational opportunities with our long-term partners, UNICEF and Amadeus. We’ve traditionally made the collection in-flight, but now passengers can donate as they book their flights at Finnair.com. We hope that passengers will back our aim of providing a better future for many Asian children,” says Pekka Vauramo, CEO of Finnair. "Even very small sums can make a big difference, and every donation is significant to those who benefit.”
“Finnair and the Finnish Committee for UNICEF have been raising funds for children together for almost twenty years. We’re extremely pleased to include this new form of cooperation in our partnership, and we warmly welcome on board our new technology partner Amadeus,” says Marja-Riitta Ketola, Executive Director of the Finnish Committee, UNICEF.
Finnair’s oneworld alliance partner Iberia, launched a corresponding donation initiative, in partnership with UNICEF and Amadeus,on its own website in November 2013.
