Vice President, R&D Strategic Studies

Frederic is responsible for R&D Strategic Studies since January 2013. In his role he contributes to the representation of R&D in various strategic matters, such as M&A, strategic studies and relationship with outside bodies. He also became the first Amadeus Fellow, as part of the development of the Expert carrier path in Amadeus.
His previous position was in Product Development Strategy (PDS) team. The PDS division had responsibility across a number of corporate processes, such as product strategy, budget, methods, and technology coordination.
Prior to this role, Frédéric was Vice President, Product & Technology Strategic Planning since November 2004, reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy. Frédéric coordinated the functional and technical evolutions of the Amadeus System within Amadeus' overall corporate strategy. He also assessed and developed opportunities for new products and partnership initiatives.
Prior to this promotion, Frédéric had successfully managed the architectural evolution of the Amadeus System and consolidation of the framework for the evolution of Amadeus global architecture since 1999.
Frédéric joined Amadeus in 1990 and held roles in the TAMS division, Front Office group, and System Planning division. In 1998, Frédéric was promoted to Director, Distributed Systems, managing the development of products and services for travel agents.
Before joining Amadeus, Frédéric managed his own consulting company providing IT services to the oil industry, having worked for various oil companies as a geologist and geophysicist.
Frédéric began his career with a thesis in Earth Sciences at the French Institute for Petroleum (IFP), where he then did research work for five years. A native of France, Fred graduated in Engineering from École Polytechnique and École Nationale Supérieure des Mines, Paris.
