Angel was appointed President of Amadeus Asia Pacific in August 2013. He directs the company’s strategy for Asia Pacific, with a focus on distribution and new business. Ensuring the travel industry continues to have the latest technology to meet the increasing demands of today’s traveller in Asia Pacific is also a key priority. 
 
Recognising the benefits of proximity to customers in terms of local market knowledge and responsiveness, Amadeus is progressively regionalising its operations. In the Bangkok regional headquarters there are now more than 400 travel industry experts, in addition to more than 2,000 professionals in the 39 individual markets that make up the Asia Pacific region. Additional hubs in Singapore, Tokyo and Sydney are also being enhanced. 
 
Angel joined Amadeus in December 2000 as Director of Latin America. In this role, he was accountable for all Amadeus business in the region managing ACO and central resources dedicated to the region. In 2006, he became the Director of Western Europe and in 2010 he was appointment Vice President, Western Europe, Middle East and Africa. Angel is well versed in managing vast regional teams as well as addressing the wide variety of country and business issues across large markets.
 
Before joining Amadeus, Angel worked for American Express from 1995 as a Marketing Executive for the Spanish market. He was quickly promoted to Senior Marketing Executive, heading up the Corporate Services Department. By 1998, he had risen to a pan-European marketing role based in London.
 
Angel graduated from the University of Madrid with a Degree in Law and he holds an MBA from the EOI (Escuela de Organización Industrial).
