Amadeus Australia (Sydney)

Sydney

Located in New South Wales and the most populous city in Australia, Sydney is situated on the south-east coast, on the Tasman Sea. As of 2010, Sydney had an approximate population of 4.76 million people. Often called Sydneysiders, inhabitants of this vibrant city comprise both a cosmopolitan and international population.

Established in 1788 at Sydney Cove, Sydney was the site of the first British colony in Australia. The city is built on hills surrounding one of the world's largest harbours, Port Jackson, which is commonly known as Sydney Harbour, where the iconic Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge are prominent structures. The iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera house are both located a stone’s throw away from Circular Quay train station. From here you can walk across the bridge to the famous Luna Park fairground or take in a show before dining in one of the many restaurants or cafes around the harbor. The metropolitan area is surrounded by national parks, and the coastal regions feature many bays, rivers, inlets and beaches, including the famous Bondi and Manly beaches.v

The climate in Sydney is temperate with warm summers and mild winters. The warmest months are January and February, with an average air temperature range of 18.7–25.9 °C (65.7–78.6 °F) for January and 18.8–25.8 °C (65.8–78.4 °F) for February.

Our building

Amadeus IT Pacific has approximately 300 staff working across five offices throughout Australia & New Zealand. The head office is located in Sydney, but we also have regional offices in Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Auckland (New Zealand). The Sydney office is located directly opposite the Central Station which is the hub of the train network. It is a key interchange point between buses, coaches and trams, thus making it a prime point of exploration for the rest of the city.

Take part in our work

Amadeus joins up the key players in the travel industry so that they can connect to their customers and sell to new ones, wherever they are in the world. We also help our customers to serve their customers and manage their own critical IT.

Our Sydney office has 3 core business divisions. The ACO is where we address travel agents’ needs when making bookings for air, hotel, car or others forms of travel services via our GDS (Global Distribution System). The ASC is where we address airlines’ key operational requirements in the areas of sales, reservation & ticketing, inventory management, departure control and e-commerce. Finally, our New Businesses Unit researches and invests in new travel markets, such as rail and hotels.
