Amadeus Electronic Ticketing Direct

Amadeus Electronic Ticketing Direct

Amadeus eTicketing Direct enables authorised Travel Agents to issue Electronic Tickets on the validating carrier’s e-ticket stock and to report these transactions directly to the airline revenue accounting system, without reporting them first to the BSP.
Key benefits
  • Facilitates seamless e-ticketing transition even in markets with no BSP.
  • Direct sales relationship between the airline and the travel agent.
  • Faster exchange of information.
Main features
  • Document numbers: Computer Generated Numbers (CGN) are provided by the airline and recorded in Amadeus. These numbers are sub-allocated in predefined ranges to the travel agents authorised for Electronic Ticketing Direct.
  • E-ticket issuance: Travel agents can select the ticketing carrier at time of issuance by simply adding the modifier /T-XX (where XX is the carrier code).
  • Accounting Coupons: The following coupons can be printed by travel agents if required by the airline: Itinerary receipt, Audit coupon, Agent coupon, Credit Card Charge form and Passenger coupon.
  • Forms of payment: Only the forms of payment authorised by the airline can be used by travel agents. A unique FOP table is used for the management of all Electronic Ticket Direct implemented markets.
  • Follow-up: Travel agents have access to all existing e-ticketing functionalities (Display, Exchange/Reissue, History, Refund, Revalidation and Void).
  • Sales reports: Travel agents are able to display the current and past sales issued on the airline’s e-ticket stock via standard Sales Report functionality.
Optional features:
  • Reporting: Ticketing sales transactions are reported in standard IATA HOT/RET format at the airline’s preferred frequency. Files can be sent via secured FTP server or delivered directly into an iiNET account.
  • Ticket quota control: An extra option with Electronic Ticketing Direct that allows airlines to control the number of electronic tickets issued by travel agents.
