MAXjet Airways Now Available On The Amadeus System
Amadeus' access to mainstream travel distribution provides excellent match for all-business-class carrier model
MIAMI, February 16, 2006 -- MAXjet Airways, Inc. ('MAXjet) -- the first premium all-business, low fare transatlantic airline -- and Amadeus, a global leader in technology and distribution solutions for the travel and tourism industry, have signed a distribution agreement bringing the carrier’s complete inventory to Amadeus customers worldwide.
Washington-Dulles-based MAXjet joins 500 airlines representing more than 95 percent of the world’s scheduled airline seats now available through Amadeus, among them many low-fare and low-cost carriers.
"As MAXjet seeks to expand its presence in as many distribution channels as possible, we will be able to help it extend its visibility and build its competitiveness," said Peter von Moltke, Amadeus Airline Business Group Senior Vice President.
"We recognized the value of distributing our flights through Amadeus -- not only for its presence in the U.S. market, but also because of its strength in the European market," said Gary Rogliano, MAXjet’s CEO. "Linking to the world's leading distribution system assures that we are more fully integrated into corporate travel offices, enabling us to deliver all of the pricing, content and reporting that those corporations require for employee travel."
MAXjet launched its initial route on November 1, 2005, between New York City (JFK) and London (Stansted). MAXjet operates Boeing 767s configured for all-business-class service. MAXjet is launching an additional route between Washington (Dulles) and London (Stansted) on March 15, 2006. MAXjet is a premium all-business-class airline dedicated to bringing greater value to the intercontinental market by connecting key business cities with a high-quality, low fare business class product.
Von Moltke noted that the MAXjet agreement is further evidence of Amadeus' commitment to bringing the widest variety of content possible to travel professionals, as well as serving as a valued distribution partner to all types of airlines.
"Our goal has always been to provide our agency subscribers with the widest possible array of revenue opportunities and travel content," said von Moltke. "Adding MAXjet to our distribution channel further demonstrates this ongoing effort."
