transavia.com distributes web fares via Amadeus

To further encourage travel agents to book transavia.com (codes HV, TO and PH), the European low cost carrier announces that they will no longer apply any fare differential on travel agency bookings made through Amadeus

London, UK – 23rd September 2009 – Amadeus, a global leader in technology and distribution solutions for the travel and tourism industry, is pleased to announce that since Monday 14th September, transavia.com no longer applies the fare differential of EUR 5 per segment for all bookings created through Amadeus. Now travel agents are able to offer travellers the same prices as transavia.com itself offers on its website. According to the airline, this ensures that travel agents have access to the cheapest transavia.com web fares when booking through Amadeus.

transavia.com is available through Amadeus’ unique technology solution for low-cost 'ticketless' airlines named Amadeus Ticketless Access. This product enables travel agents to find flight options to suit a broader range of needs, especially for travellers who are particularly budget-conscious.

“One of our overarching aims is to offer our travel agency customers as complete a range as possible within the framework of the Amadeus GDS. Low-cost airlines are an important, growing market and it is essential that these are easily bookable via Amadeus. The changes that Transavia.com.com is making eliminate the differences in availability and fees between the direct and agency sales channels,” comments Tim Russell, managing director, Amadeus UK & Ireland.

Transavia.com flies to around 90 destinations during the summer months and 35 or so destinations in the winter to sun destinations and ski destinations, besides various European city trip destinations. With departures from airports including Copenhagen/Kastrup, transavia.com covers the UK, France, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey and Spain, including the Canary Islands and Mallorca.
