The Amadeus Data Centre reinforces this idea as it is the epicentre of a truly excellent global 24/7 operation. Our Follow the Sun concept ensures local knowledge and presence in all major time zones. As such Erding is managed remotely round-the-clock from Miami and Sydney. As the business day begins and ends in the three time zones, system monitoring and management is seamlessly handed over each evening, first by Erding to Miami and then, eight or so hours later, from Miami to Sydney. It took an enormous two-year project to build all the new processes and the new organisation that delivers them. Thanks to Follow the Sun, resource utilisation has been optimised and problem resolution times minimised. This approach – delivered by a truly global operations organisation – is also much closer to the customer.
