Andrew Nicholson appointed Managing Director, TravelTainment UK

Peterborough - 09 September, 2008 – With immediate effect Andrew Nicholson (39) has been appointed Managing Director at TravelTainment UK. In this new Position he reports directly to Andrew Owen-Jones who is Managing Director International at the global TravelTainment – The Amadeus Leisure Group.

TravelTainment's internet booking engine allows consumers to search thousands of destinations within milliseconds. The Internet Booking Engine already powers the websites of 250 travel agents and tour operators in Germany and has a growing portfolio in the UK including Anatolian Sky, Perfect-trip, 24 Holidays and Littleescapes.

Andrew Owen-Jones comments, “Andrew Nicholson will provide valuable expertise and this will help to move the business up another gear. We see a real growth opportunity for TravelTainment in the UK and one of Andrew’s top priorities will be to increase our UK customer base.”

Mr Nicholson most recently headed up dynamic packaging at Thomas Cook’s Independent Travel division where his core responsibility was to drive profitable growth in new and incremental, dynamically packaged inventory sales. Previously, Mr Nicholson has held a number of Managing Director roles in the travel industry including CheapCaribbean.co.uk, Superior Holidays and Avro Plc where he boosted direct sales from 2% to 15% in twelve months.

Commenting on his latest appointment, Andrew Nicholson said, “Joining TravelTainment is a perfect role for me, it has the drive and energy of an autonomous business but backed up with a technology super-power. We have some terrific technology which will get even better as we bring to market new features which are currently in the pipeline.”
