FARES & PRICING Solution

Easily update fares and pricing with greater flexibility

Amadeus Rail’s Fares and Pricing solution is designed to work seamlessly with the rest of the Amadeus Rail IT Product Suite & can easily be interfaced to other Ticketing Systems that have a standard API.

The Amadeus Rail Fares and Pricing Solution is a powerful tool that will allow operational users to set up Fares and Pricing rules.

Fares and Pricing rules can be set up in “Real Time”, tested and then sent “Live” so that Rail Operators can instantly react to market conditions and send new Marketing Campaigns Live immediately. Fares and Prices also can be built in advance for future date Ranges and sent live for seasonal campaigns.

Amadeus Rail IT Fares & Pricing Overview

Our pricing solution is based on Basic Fares and Pricing Rules. A Basic Fare is the starting value for pricing any piece of itinerary and a Pricing Rule is a collection of various restrictions and travel conditions under which a discount is applicable to a passenger and his/her travel.

The Fares and Pricing solution has 3 ways of interfacing with a Rail Operators Reservation and Ticketing System:

  • Web Service
  • Shared Memory
  • File based FTP

In addition to this as long as the Railway Ticketing system has a defined API or file format, the Fares and Pricing Interface can easily be adapted to communicate with the rail operators own ticketing system.

Fares

Amadeus supports 4 different types of Basic Fares. These types of fares are Market Fares, Distance Fares, Zone Fares and Event Fares.

Pricing

Amadeus uses sophisticated pricing rules containing restrictions based on: seasonality, advance purchase, blackout periods, day of week, time of day, discount code, travel trade organization (TTCO), one way/round trip, length of stay, stopover, rounding, train, carrier, station, booking class, and passenger type.
