Amadeus presents loyalty programme for travel agency employees

Warsaw, May 22, 2007 – Amadeus, the global leader in IT solutions for the tourism and travel industry, has announced its loyalty programme – Amadeus Privilege. The programme is targeted at travel agency employees making hotel bookings via the Amadeus system.

Every travel agent making hotel bookings via the Amadeus system can participate in the Amadeus Privilege programme. It’s free to join in and simply requires registering at www.amadeusprivilege.com. Every participant receives an individual ID number and for every booked hotel segment, the participant receives points credited to his or her personal account. The points may be exchanged for awards (partners sponsoring the awards in the Amadeus Privilege programme are major international hotel chains).

                                  

“The Amadeus Privilege programme is our way of saying thank you to clients who use our hotel booking system,” sais Ireneusz Marganiec, Chairman and CEO of Amadeus Polska. “We’d like to invite not only our long-standing customers to take part, plus those who have just started working with the Amadeus system,” added Ireneusz Marganiec.

 

Amadeus is developing its distribution system for hotels in four specific areas: range of content, rates, commission payments and new technology for managing information.  On the content side, Amadeus is adding properties to its inventory of bookable hotels at over 10% each year. With regard to rates, over 90 hotel chains have signed up for the Amadeus Best Available Rate (BAR) programme. This is a guarantee by hotels to provide Amadeus with their best room prices – a critical factor for travel agents seeking best value for their clients.  

 

Amadeus is also pro-actively addressing one of the travel agents’ greatest issues with regards to hotel bookings through the distribution system – the difficulty of collecting commission payments.  Amadeus is introducing a major new system this year which will provide a system for swift and sure payments on bookings and address this issue for both travel agents and hotels.  The next part in Amadeus’ drive to encourage more hotel bookings to be made through the distribution system is the provision of the reservation portal which facilitates the ability to make reservations.  A new user interface, integrated into the Amadeus Selling Platform, and available as a standalone tool for travel agents using GDSs other than Amadeus, will launch in 2007.
