Amadeus helps to empower women through education
Manila, Philippines, 13 September 2012: Amadeus, a leading travel technology partner and transaction processor for the global travel and tourism industry, has partnered with Soroptimist International to help increase computer literacy skills of residents in Barangay Rizal, Makati City.
Soroptimist is an international organisation for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities boasts 95,000 members in 120 countries and territories across the globe. By providing livelihood skills training programs, the organization aims to empower and enable women through education.
Recognising that education is one of the key drivers to self-empowerment in the society today, Amadeus donated refurbished personal computers for the second year to Soropotimist International for the benefit of Barangay Rizal, Makati City.
Albert Villadolid, General Manager of Amadeus Philippines said Amadeus was a firm believer of helping the community.
“This is the second time Amadeus has partnered with Soroptimist to help improve the lives of those in need. Thanks to Soroptimist International, we have been able to improve the lives of over 500 women in the Barangay Rizal area.”
