FEU partners with Amadeus for travel technology
Manila, Philippines, 08 July 2009: Amadeus, a leading global technology partner to the travel and tourism industry, has recently partnered with Far Eastern University (FEU) to provide its Tourism and Hotel and Restaurant Management students with Amadeus e-Learning, the travel and tourism industry’s benchmark to travel trade education. The partnership will make available online courses that will train and acquaint FEU students with Amadeus Travel IT solutions, including various mandatory travel-related lessons.
“FEU aims to prepare its students to be world-class professionals in their chosen fields. Our partnership with Amadeus will allow our Tourism and HRM students to gain globally recognized industry certification that will give them the edge when looking for employment here and abroad after they complete their studies,” says Dr. Lydia B. Echauz, President of FEU. She added, “This new partnership with Amadeus, forged after a thorough review and selection process and after consulting various stakeholders, such as our practitioner-oriented faculty team, industry experts, students and school administrators, will use state-of-the-art technologies and platforms in e-learning and industry-grade certification processes.”

Far Eastern University is the sixth oldest and one of the largest private, non-sectarian universities in the country. Among its notable alumni are former Supreme Court Chief Justice Artemio Panganiban, and industry leaders Henry Sy, Menardo Jimenez, Alfonso Yuchengco, and Lucio Tan.
Amadeus Philippines has been serving the Philippine market since 1997 and has currently grown its client base to over 2,000 travel agencies. It has also partnered with more than ten leading travel and tourism institutions in the Philippines.
