Development

Global Distribution System (GDS) – Technical foresight and large scale re-engineering have placed us in a vantage position. Our solutions are based on open standards, enabling the levels of integration and flexibility that allow innovative product development and fast, efficient deployment. Our engineers benefit from this optimal environment to create new solutions and develop the highly powerful applications which today’s travel industry demands.
IT solutions for the airlines – The Sophia Antipolis site is the centre for worldwide Airline IT development, extending the seamless flow of information across the passenger service systems. A wealth of technological expertise is driving our diversification process. We are currently expanding our portfolio of solutions and associated services to become the privileged IT partner optimizing the performances of a diversity of customers in the travel industry.
Fare Quote – Amadeus Fare Quote offers the fastest, most sophisticated fare search system, processing approximately 50 million transactions per day. From the start, Amadeus differentiated itself from its competitors by developing a non-discriminatory system architecture. This guarantee of true neutrality played a vital role I today’s ranking of Amadeus as world leader in travel bookings. Today, Amadeus top level experts are leading the race to match the demands of ever more complex fare requests.
Sales and e-commerce platform – Consumer behavior has been profoundly modified by the fast evolution of e-commerce, which has increased the need for a smooth flow of information between online and offline business. Amadeus is putting in place a system to provide a seamless online and offline solution through all channels of distribution. This will make the booking and customer information accessible at all stages of the value chain, while reinforcing the merchandising capability of our global distribution system. Amadeus is the global leader in online travel technology and corporate travel management solutions.
Travel Services Leisure (TSL) – The Sophia Antipolis site is also the centre for the worldwide development of front, mid and back office solutions for online and offline travel agencies, with over 200,000 Amadeus Selling Platform clients deployed around the world. The Travel Services and Leisure division is developing the technology and marketing solutions for car rentals, cruise, ferries, insurance, rail and tour operators.
Operations Research and Innovation – Amadeus is among the top 100 European companies investing in research and development. 15% of our €300 million investment/year is dedicated to R%D and technology evolution. R&D investments have nearly tripled over the last five years. Reinforcing the Amadeus position as a true technology partner, the Sophia Antipolis site includes an Operations Research and Innovation division which focuses on the emergence of creative solutions. This is coupled with a strong patenting policy which has been put in place to protect our innovations.
Marketing
The employees of the Sophia site work in direct collaboration with the Marketing teams based in Madrid, in relation to the definition of the strategy, supervision of communication and coordination of relationships between the Amadeus Commercial Organisations (ACOs) and other partners.
e-Travel - Launched in 2002, e-Travel delivers successful online travel solutions and services to airlines, corporations and travel agencies worldwide. Like the rest of Amadeus, e-Travel is a truly global unit with over 200 employees spread over 5 key locations, collectively representing over 20 nationalities.
Travel Office Products & Solutions - Travel Office Products & Solutions (TOPS) provides a wide range of products and solutions for travel agency and airline distributions. These solutions are based on the intelligent application of new technology. Through TOPS, Amadeus is a global leader in the development, delivery and support of innovation travel management systems, with 450 employees spread over 5 locations. TOPS flagship products are Amadeus Selling Platform – a professional browser-based front-office reservation product, and Amadeus Sales Management Solution.
Travel Service & Leisure - The TSL unit is supported by regional offices in Bangkok, Buenos Aires, Frankfurt and Miami. TSL is split into 5 areas: Ground & Maritime Solutions, Tours, vacation.com, TSL Business Development and TSL Marketing. TSL’s portfolio covers Cars, Cruise, Ferry, Ground Transportation, Insurance, Rail, Tours and vacation.com.
Hospitality Business Group - The Amadeus Hospitality Business Group is an IT solutions provider that operates in the fields of hospitality, catering, tourism, travel and transportation. It conceives, develops and implements a unique and complete range of technology solutions that help people to manage their business and optimise their revenue.
Airline Business Group - The Airline Business Group is responsible for the overall relationship between Amadeus and the airlines, and manages a significant part of the portfolio of the Amadeus solutions for the airlines.
