Guaranteeing airline content for travel agencies
Amadeus has signed three-year full-content options with 42 European airlines. The objective is to increase stablilty in the European distribution market.
Stabilising the European distribution market
Amadeus has launched an extended three-year full-content programme in Europe. The objective is to establish a period of stability in the European distribution market.
Basic rules of the agreement
Airlines taking part of the programme agree to make available their full range of schedules, fares and associated inventory through Amadeus in exchange for lower distribution costs. They also guarantee not to apply any surcharges until the end of the content agreement.
42 airlines already signed = 70% of European airline bookings in Amadeus
So far, 42 major European airlines have signed agreements, including Air France-KLM, Iberia, Alitalia, TAP Air Portugal, Brussels Airlines, Air Europa, Malev and Air Berlin. A further 29 carriers have signed one-year agreements.
Together with the content agreements in place with British Airways and SAS, this represents about 70% of European airline bookings made by Amadeus subscribers in Europe.
This positive response from European airlines indicates that they are satisfied with the balance we have struck between airlines' need to manage distribution costs and the value of giving travel agencies easy access to the content they need.
