The International Air Transportation Association (IATA) has a long history of representing airlines from all around the world. As they celebrate 72 years of flying, IATA is now 100 times larger than it was when it was founded in 1945 in Havana, Cuba.
Amadeus is an IATA Strategic Partner and as such, participates in activities such as think tanks, advisory groups or industry related events. To manage this relationship, a coordination group of all Amadeus stakeholders was established and meets every 6-8 weeks to share updates, discuss upcoming engagements, and to align on positions.
Together, the needs of all industry stakeholders are considered when discussing standards and policies. This applies not only to the top airlines around the world but also the smaller, regional carriers and LCCs we serve as customers. We are also very mindful of the GDS marketplace and independent travel distribution which is made up of all travel providers.
We are in a unique position at the heart of a rapidly evolving travel ecosystem. A pillar of our company is to put the customer at the center of what we do. We have been doing this for 30 years and close relationships with players like IATA are key in this respect. As our industry continues to embrace change we are working with IATA to shape the future of travel, while ensuring that our technology is the most effective and efficient way to distribute travel.
