The Americas are home to some of the world’s largest airlines. And as part of its ongoing focus on enabling airlines’ success, Amadeus has appointed Elena Avila, the current global head of airline strategy, to lead its airline business in the region.
In her new role as Executive Vice President, head of Airlines for the Americas, Avila will drive the business and solution strategy for Amadeus’ airline segment in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America, as well as its implementation, delivery and customer care teams. Avila and her team will focus on delivering the right solutions for airlines to execute their distribution and IT strategies optimally, while continuing to nurture long-term customer partnerships and expanding Amadeus’ regional presence.
“The Americas region is the world’s leading travel market, with a strong heritage and a huge geographical reach. Our airline customers both in North America and Latin America have unique needs and business objectives. I look forward to putting our solutions, expertise and people to work to help carriers across the region achieve their goals, now and in the future,” said Avila.
Avila will assume her new position October 1, 2017, based in Amadeus’ Dallas office.
