The bar is set very high as cruise lines aim to one-up each other with the latest and greatest enhancements. Now travelers have many choices when it comes to which ship but another big decision is where to go. To help plan your client’s next cruise, we’ve rounded up our top five favorite cruise destinations that are bookable via Amadeus Total Cruise.

  1. The Caribbean

According to the Cruise Line International Association (CLIA), more than 33 percent of all cruise passengers visit the Caribbean. This is an obvious choice. It has great weather year-round (except for the occasional hurricane!), beautiful tropical islands surrounded by crystal turquoise warm waters and a rich local culture. You also get to experience different languages including Spanish, French, Dutch, Haitian Creole and Papiamento (a Portuguese and Spanish-based Creole language). The Caribbean is getting even more interesting with the opening up of Cuba. After over half a century of blockage to the outside world many cruise lines are now calling on Cuba including Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean Cruises and Carnival Cruise Line. The Caribbean is definitely the top destination for cruising.

  1. The Mediterranean

Cruising the Mediterranean allows you to explore the world’s greatest treasures without the hassle of packing and unpacking. Imagine dinner in Barcelona and breakfast in Marseille against the backdrop of emerald green waters! The sunny beaches, picturesque landscapes, nostalgic monuments and colorful ruins make the Mediterranean a sought-after cruise destination.

  1. Europe (without Mediterranean)

A new world is waiting for you in the Baltic Sea. A cruise to Northern Europe and Scandinavia can be just what you have been looking for. Explore the geological wonder of Iceland and the mystical art museums in Russia. Did you know that St. Petersburg is one of the main attractions of this region? This is Russia’s second largest city with one of the greatest art museums in the world, The Hermitage.

  1. Asia

There is no better way to experience Asia than from the comfort of a luxury cruise ship. From the vitality of Hong Kong, to the small charming villages of Indonesia, Asia is perfect for the culturally inquisitive traveler and anyone looking for adventure. Create unique memories on the other side of the world, exploring this fascinating continent.

  1. Australia/New Zealand/Pacific

Beautiful landscapes, diverse cultures and a laid-back sensibility is what one can experience in this area of the world. A cruise ‘down-under’ may be the ideal vacation for adventurous clients. Imagine them having a shrimp on the “barbie,” then go for a swim with dolphins at the Bay of Islands in New Zealand. If you can, a cruise to this region will be an adventure of a lifetime!
