Amadeus wins the B2B Standard of Excellence at the 2007 WebAward Competition

Website awards are a great way to recognise talented individual and team efforts in outstanding website development and generate Internet marketing exposure for the award winning website. The international WebAward Competition is the premier website award programme available today.

Madrid, Spain, 20 September: The Web Marketing Association is an all volunteer organisation founded in Boston in 1997. The founder and current President, along with many other Internet marketing professionals, saw a need for web-based award competitions and in 1997 began the WMA to offer the annual WebAward Competition for website development. Today, they work with hundreds of volunteers worldwide to conduct the annual website award competitions.

The Web Marketing Association has presented today (18 September) this 2007 Web Award for outstanding achievement in website development. We are extremely pleased to announce that Amadeus has won the B2B Standard of Excellence, International Business Standard of Excellence for our corporate website (www.amadeus.com).

Each site was assigned to three or more expert judges for evaluation. The judges were informed of the mission statement and prospective audience for the site and provided the link to enter and review the site. They visited the site starting with the URL provided on the entry form and assumed the role of a target user. After reviewing the site, they entered their scores for seven different judging criteria.

Each site was judged on each of the seven criteria, earning a score between 0 and 10 points. Entries receive the Standard of Excellence WebAward when their score is above the average of their industry.

Our website received a score of 9 in Content (the industry average being 7.5) and 8.5 in Design, Innovation & Ease of use (the industry average being 7.5, 6.7 and 7.7 respectively).

The Web team would like to take this opportunity to thank our colleagues from the ACOs and the business lines for helping us to grow the content of our public websites. We have 46 ACO websites launched and nine customer segment lines' websites already available in our corporate website.
