UAB Amadeus Lithuania becomes the sole IATA/UFTAA authorized training centre in Lithuania
Madrid, 01 October 2007. Amadeus, a global IT leader enabling success in the travel industry, has been certified as an official IATA training centre in Lithuania by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the United Federation of Travel's Agents' Associations (UFTAA) from 01 September 2007.
The IATA / UFTAA International Travel and Tourism Training Programs offered through the IATA Authorized Training Centres are the most complete, industry responsive and career-oriented training programs, providing students with the best industry-wide knowledge and globally recognised qualifications. Since 01 September 2007, Amadeus is the sole institution in Lithuania having the authorisation to provide IATA training.
These trainings are specially designed for existing and aspirant actors of the travel industry willing to manage and coordinate travel arrangements. They also constitute one of the requirements to meet for travel agencies in view of becoming IATA-accredited agencies.
Trainees enrolling Amadeus Lithuania’s trainings will benefit from a formation enabling them to get an invaluable insight in today’s travel industry challenges. They will become familiar with related subjects such as industry regulations, codes, world geography, air fares and ticketing including e-ticketing, visa and health requirements, as well as tour programmes.
The trainees completing successfully the examination will be qualified as holders of the IATA/UFTAA International Travel and Tourism Foundation Diploma and will be entitled to add the designation "DTTF" (Diploma in Travel and Tourism Foundations) after their name.
Kristina Staneviciene, General Manager, Amadeus Lithuania, commented “By providing quality training services, Amadeus reinforces its commitment as a true partner for the travel industry. On the one hand Amadeus’ long term investment aims at providing industry maturity in Lithuania, leading to a professional consultative partnership with local players. On the other hand, Amadeus will ensure local travel agencies acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to ensure that their front-line contact with the customer is outstanding.”
IATA stated: “We chose Amadeus as we believe they are our most reliable partner in the travel industry when it comes to provide an understanding of the travel and tourism industry, the practicalities of the travel professional's role, the importance of exceeding customer expectations, and the role of technology in the travel industry”.
