Amadeus expands fare content with Flybe agreement

London, 15 January 2008: Amadeus, a global leader in technology and distribution solutions for the travel and tourism industry, today announced that Flybe – Europe’s largest regional airline - has signed a contract enabling agents to gain access to full content, including the airline’s lowest fares.

ALL Flybe classes are now available to Amadeus subscribers worldwide and agents are asked to append any fare quote or display entry with R,UP (or equivalent within an API verb) to access Flybe fares on a particular route. Additional classes now filed as Cat 15 are X and Q for Domestic and X, Q and L for international.

“Flybe are delighted to be working in association with Amadeus to bring this enhanced content to our industry partners,” said Stephen Hobday, Head of Sales at Flybe. “We have been bookable through Amadeus for many years, and are looking forward to seeing the results of this extended offering, particularly at such an exciting time for the airline as we integrate BA Connect and Loganair routes into our existing network,” he added.

Julian Mills, Director of Sales, Amadeus UK & Ireland, said: “Flybe is going from strength to strength, and we are proud to be part of that growth. The success of our relationship is a solid foundation for this new, extended, contract and we are confident that it will bring benefits all round – to agents who now have full access to all of Flybe’s fares; to Flybe who have the chance to promote their recently expanded route network to the entire Amadeus client base; and to us in the form of a rewarding and growing relationship with Europe’s largest regional airline.”

Following the successful acquisition of BA Connect, Flybe’s new route network is 70% domestic UK, 20% European business and 10% European leisure destinations.

Flybe’s $3 billion investment programme, and the phasing out of older aircraft, means Flybe will fly one of the youngest and most environmentally sensitive fleets in the world, exclusively comprised of  Embraer 195 and Bombardier Q400 aircraft.

Flybe has major bases at Birmingham, Southampton, Manchester, Belfast and the Channel Islands and also flies to Dublin and Galway.  It is the largest scheduled airline at Birmingham, Manchester, Exeter, Southampton, Isle of Man, Belfast City and the Channel Islands.  Flybe operates out of more UK airports than any other airline.
