Solution for Child Age Information
Please be advised that Air India (AI) cannot process the new IATA format for SSR child yet. This mean when the new IATA format for SSR Child is used, it will result in NOREC PNRs or no SSR child information is captured by those airlines.
While these airlines are in the process of becoming IATA compliant, we would like to advise agents to use the following work around solution to avoid NOREC PNRs or non-synchronization:
1. Book the child passenger as an adult. The Record Locator will be returned as a normal PNR

2. Once the Record Locator is retuned, you may add the CHD element manually by modifying the name element into the child passenger by using the advised entries as below. Then SSR CHLD and OSI elements will be created. This will enable you to price the child fare correctly with the correct name and passenger type code printed on the ticket.

3. According to our test, any modification after the insertion of SSR CHLD, will reach the airline
and they will also update in the PNR
