More participating carriers in Amadeus Virtual MCO (VMCO) - Japan Airlines
We are pleased to announce that Japan Airlines (JL) will start to use Amadeus Virtual MCO with immediate effect.
According to the airline’s requirement, JL will limit VMCO usage only for residual value refund during ticket reissuance. The airline will authorize ticketing agents to issue Amadeus VMCO for the refundable balances on an ad hoc basis. Please kindly be reminded that JL will not accept VMCO for any other purpose than the aforesaid.
As this is an ad hoc arrangement, ticketing agents are required to contact JL and request the airline to allocate the VMCO quota in our system before VMCO issuance.
After above step is taken, please follow these steps for VMCO issuance on JL and select “K” as the reason for issuance code:
Once the VMCO is issued, travel agent must submit the VMCO passenger receipt copy, which is clearly stamped by a valid electronic validator and signed by an authorised person, together with the refund application form to JL for processing refund.
