34 airlines already signed up for Amadeus’ new 3-year full content guarantee in Europe

Madrid, 28 January 2008: Amadeus, global leader in technology and distribution solutions for the travel and tourism industry, launched a three-year full content programme in Europe in January 2008. Already, 34 airlines have signed up to the programme, including Air France-KLM, Iberia, Alitalia, TAP Air Portugal, Air Europa and Malev. A further 29 airlines have signed one-year full content agreements.

The 3-year agreement is an extension of the one-year Amadeus Full Content Option introduced in 2005 and guarantees travel agents and corporations in Europe efficient access to an airline’s full range of fares through Amadeus until end of 2010. Access to the content will be granted through Amadeus without a surcharge from the airline or any other additional cost to the travel agency or its customer.

“We introduced an extended, three-year Full Content Option on 1 January in an effort to establish a period of stability in the European travel distribution market,” says David Jones, Executive Vice President, Commercial, Amadeus, “The positive reaction is evidence that European airlines are satisfied with the balance we have struck between airlines’ need to manage distribution costs and the value of giving travel agencies and corporations efficient access to the content they need.”

Airlines signing both 1-year and 3-year Full Content Options guarantee that the schedules, fares, last seat availability and associated inventory available to travel agents through Amadeus will be the same as content offered in:

˜ any internet website, including the airline’s own website
˜ the airline’s own reservation system
˜ any other distribution provider

These agreements bring the total number of travel agency bookings covered by Amadeus content agreements in Europe to over 100 million, representing around 70% of European airline bookings sold by  Amadeus travel agencies in Europe.
