5,000 new hotels in the Amadeus system
As one of the world’s largest travel suppliers, Amadeus is opening up its system to a further 5,000 hotels. Through Amadeus, travel agents now have the opportunity to book rooms at 75,000 hotels around the world.
Over the years, Amadeus has focused on increasing access to independent hotels for travel agents. The company has increased the number of budget hotels in the booking system by 38% since October 2006. These hotels expand the scope for Amadeus’ worldwide Multi Channel Distribution tool.
“The range of budget hotels has previously been quite limited in our system. Now, the system is organised so that travel agents can customise holidays for all needs and pockets,” explains Anders Bengtson, Manager Corporate and Marketing Communications.
Through a new rating system, travel agents can access information on the most cost-effective alternative in the Amadeus system. Via the booking system, travel agents can increase their efficiency, since information on how much commission each hotel gives is presented on the travel booker’s screen. This encourages them to make more bookings with the hotels that are in the Amadeus system.
