NEW STRATEGIC BOARD MEMBER FOR ACTE WITH APPOINTMENT OF ALBERT POZO

The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) has appointed Albert  Pozo, VP, Multinational Business & Corporate Travel Amadeus as a strategic board member to its global board of directors.

Mr. Pozo, who is based between Nice and Madrid, was unanimously approved by the board in December and took office in January 2011.  In his role on the ACTE Global board, Mr Pozo will bring unique insight on the latest technological developments and issues in the sector, based on 20 years of experience in the global travel industry.

A strategic board member position is an appointed board seat, as opposed to an elected one, with the rationale being that an appointed director gives the board the flexibility to select a person that may bring a required skill set or specific expertise, represent a certain industry segment, or geographic region or country, depending on the current strategic initiatives of ACTE.

Commenting on his appointment Mr Pozo said: “I am delighted to be joining the Global board of directors of ACTE.  During my career I have been lucky to accumulate valuable experience across a wide range of sectors in the travel and technology industry including  airlines, travel management companies and corporations . Ours is one of the most dynamic and exciting areas, where changes are constant. I look forward to bringing my insight, experience and perspective to the ACTE Global Board, and so contribute to shape up the future of corporate travel.

Ron DiLeo, Executive Director, ACTE added: “The ACTE Global Board is made up of some of the most experienced and talented professionals in the business travel community, Albert will bring an enourmous amount of expertise and knowledge to the board and his experience in the sector will ensure that the ACTE Global strategy will help the sector, and our members, go from strength to strength – we’re delighted to welcome him to the board of directors.”
