Israel Herraiz is a data scientist at Amadeus Travel Intelligence amd holds a PhD in Computer Science from the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (Madrid, Spain). Previous to joining Amadeus, he was an assistant professor at the Technical University of Madrid (UPM), conducting research on the application of empirical methods and data science to the study of software development and to mining software repositories. More recently, he started conducting research on transportation, studying data patterns in road traffic. At Amadeus, he applies the same methods to the analysis of travel data, including but not limited to: travel agencies, airlines and market information. His research interests lie in the intersection between statistics, computer programming and travel data. He has been a visiting scholar to different universities in Europe, the United States and Canada.
