As TUI fly continues to evolve its business model, increasing distribution in the indirect channel is instrumental to expand our customer base. That’s why, in addition to becoming IATA BSP certified and implementing eTicketing, we have enhanced our distribution partnership with Amadeus to leverage its expansive travel agency community. This partnership, which includes markets in Spain, Portugal, Germany, and Austria initially, will help extend our reach and achieve our new business objectives.
A key focus of this partnership will be targeting business travellers to increase the size of this customer segment and the higher-yields they bring. Amadeus has a wealth of experience in helping low-cost and hybrid carriers expand their reach in the lucrative business travel market. We hope to benefit from this experience and show travel agencies that TUI fly offers a high degree of quality for a fair price with characteristic reliability, punctuality and safety for their business traveller customers.
Since November 2016, travel agents working with Amadeus have been able to book flights with TUI fly for both leisure and business travellers with full ticketing capabilities. This means that travel agents will have full back office integration ensuring easy flight changes and payment processing with Visa, MasterCard, American Express and UATP cards. Booking a ticket with 20 kg free baggage allowance, free desk check-in or web check-in and on-board catering (one snack and one non-alcoholic drink) is also possible thanks to a broader offer on the Amadeus distribution channel .
This distribution agreement is being made in conjunction with the adoption of Amadeus’ payment technology, which will help us lower the costs of processing credit cards.
