Professionals from the aviation world gathered in Tunisia for the African Airlines Association (AFRAA)’s 6th Aviation Stakeholders Convention. This year’s edition convened under the theme ‘Collaboration for sustainable aviation growth in Africa’ with an aim to spark dialogue, build sustainable networks, and improve the aviation infrastructure of Africa.
I was delighted to participate in the panel discussion on “Meeting the ever-changing customer expectations of the increasingly connected traveller.” On the second day of the convention, Amadeus hosted a workshop examining how merchandising and digital transformation can help airlines in Africa, where we showcased our success in the merchandising space with carriers from the region. South African Airways partnered with Amadeus last year to take its digital channel sales to the next level. So far, the results speak for themselves, as Benjamin Schubert, the carrier’s Web & Mobile Manager, told us in a previous blog post.
Amadeus’ vision for the future of aviation in Africa is that carriers, no matter their size, can benefit from our merchandising technology by empowering travellers with personalised choices. And our technology can help them shape their commercial strategies.
It was another great convention that really reiterated the optimism aviation players have in the future of Africa. I would like to thank AFRAA Secretary General, Dr. Chingosho and the Civil Aviation Authority of Tunisia for hosting yet another event that really brought together aviation players to forge win-win business relationships.
