Amadeus sees continued success with Agency Manager solution in Asia Pacific
Sunflower Travel to become the first agency in Hong Kong to implement Amadeus Agency Manager
Sydney, 21 July 2009: Amadeus, a leading global technology partner for the travel and tourism industry, is continuing to grow its community of Amadeus Agency Manager customers in Asia Pacific. Currently, Amadeus is working closely with Sunflower Travel in Hong Kong to integrate the solution into their business by the end of 2009. This will allow the agency to join customers in Australia, India, Philippines and Singapore, who are already seeing the benefits of the solution. The Agency Manager is a mid and back office solution that helps travel agencies automate invoicing and reporting, manages service fee and margin, maintains profiles for customers, suppliers, products and their agency network, and facilitates important reconciliatory accounting activities. It is a highly customisable solution that supports multiple-GDS connections and is open to third party accounting systems. With seamless dataflow between the front, mid and back office, Agency Manager allows travel agents to avoid duplicate data entries and reduce errors, thus enabling improved productivity, service and data quality. The solution is also compliant with multiple markets, allowing travel agencies to seamlessly coordinate the management of their offices in various countries – for example Griffin Marine Travel, a leading travel specialist for offshore industries, uses the Agency Manager in its offices across Australia, Hong Kong, India, Philippines, Singapore and the UK. Peter Smith, Vice President, Business Solutions Group, Amadeus Asia Pacific, said, “Many travel agencies now view IT investment as a necessity to adapt to new market conditions. In Asia Pacific, we have many travel agency partners who are reaping the benefits of reduced operating costs, increased efficiency and improved customer service by implementing Amadeus’ front, mid and back office solutions. “Amadeus not only offers proven technology, but also local project management, business consulting and support services wherever the customer is based, to ensure that solutions such as the Agency Manager can be adopted with minimum disruption to their daily business,” said Smith. “Customers such as Sunflower Travel are confident in the knowledge that Amadeus will ensure they maximise their return on IT investment.” Sunflower Travel, a market-leading travel agency in Hong Kong, has been working with Amadeus since 2004, having already adopted the Amadeus Selling Platform and Amadeus e-Travel Management solution. With the integration of Agency Manager in 2009, Sunflower Travel will manage its full operations from front to back office on Amadeus technology, in all branches across Hong Kong and Macau. Mr. Anthony Chan, Assistant General Manager, Business Development, Sunflower Travel, said, “Despite the current economic downturn, Sunflower Travel Service continues to invest in technology. This is because we see that strengthening IT systems is a core strategy to increase our competitive edge and ensure our business longevity. We have chosen to partner closely with Amadeus because they understand our needs and offer us a scalable, future-proof IT platform that enables us to increase efficiency, maximise revenues and build customer loyalty through improved customer service. This is vital to our business, in addition to helping us prepare for the future economic recovery.” Amadeus Agency Manager is the travel industry’s most widely used mid and back office solution. Over 15,000 users in 25 markets use it worldwide to process more than 25 million tickets annually. Notes to the editors
