Amadeus launches Hotels Plus bringing significant web benefits to travel agents’ hotels sales
Amadeus has now made selling more hotels on the GDS as easy as on the web
Sydney, 3 March, 2009: Amadeus, a global leader in technology and distribution solutions for the travel and tourism industry, today announced the launch of Hotels Plus – integrated with Amadeus Selling Platform or used as a stand-alone application accessible via a web browser, Amadeus Hotels Plus brings significant web benefits to travel agents’ hotel sales: easy to use and quick to book for improved efficiency and added value to their customer offer.
Along with the release of Amadeus Selling Platform 4.2, deployment of Amadeus Hotels Plus is set to show strong results. In conjunction with this release and to ensure travel agents are enabled to get the most out of this great new tool, Amadeus has introduced Hotels Plus to their Virtual Training roster with the first class to be held Thursday 5 March.
What’s new with Amadeus Hotels Plus?
Amadeus Hotels Plus is the first GDS hotel selling tool offering travel agents the same intuitive navigation as a website enabling travel agents to sell more hotels more easily.
Amadeus Hotels Plus requires no cryptic or IATA codes knowledge meaning that travel agents can search for IATA and non-IATA cities using non-cryptic language. Thanks to auto-completion functionality, travel agents can now find locations more easily: just filling in the first three letters and the tool suggests the most logical ending. Agents will have dozens of hotels, with amenities including different map views, hotel pictures and real-time availability at their fingertips.
Amadeus Hotels Plus enables travel agents to work more efficiently accessing accurate information and with the comprehensive search and booking flow enables Agents to book in just 5 clicks! Agents can also retrieve their search history easily and bookmark their 10 favourite hotels. Additionally, if an air segment is in a PNR, City and Dates information will be pre-filled.
Moreover Agents can now shop from the map providing added-value to the customer, enabling them to choose a hotel depending on its proximity from a landmark (e.g. Big Ben, Statue of Liberty) directly from the map with a choice of three different views (map, satellite and bird’s eye view).
Amadeus Hotels Plus provides access to more than 78,000 properties and offers unprecedented features for a GDS! Travel agents can be even more confident in recommending the most attractive and competitive offer to each customer.
“Amadeus is committed to providing solutions that support our customers in achieving their business goals. In these times of economic uncertainty and with competition from online booking sites travel agents are looking for ways to differentiate their business, open new revenue streams and increase customer retention” said Damien Leonard, General Manager: Sales and Marketing, Amadeus.“ Amadeus Hotels Plus enables travel agents to maximise their customer service while improving efficiency and increasing productivity.
