Qantas.com wins an Outstanding Achievement Award at this year’s Interactive Media Awards

Sydney, Australia, 28 October 2008: – Qantas.com, in partnership with Amadeus has won the ‘Outstanding Achievement Award’ in the airline category of this year’s Interactive Media Awards, the second highest accolade available. Judged across five key criteria, Qantas.com scored 463 out of 500, faring particularly well on content, design and standards compliance & cross-browser compatibility.   

The Interactive Media Awards, judged by a panel of leading experts drawn from organisations such as Microsoft, Time Warner and The New York Times, seek to raise the standards of websites, promoting innovation, accessibility and rich functionality. The awards are open to entries from organisations across the world. 

This is an extremely challenging award to win and demonstrates that Qantas.com has excelled in all areas of the judging criteria, representing a very high standard of planning, execution and overall professionalism. Qantas is user of Amadeus’ e-commerce solutions since 2000 and cut over to Amadeus e-Retail Engine in 2002. Amadeus e-commerce solutions help Qantas’ customers to find the best offers through a simple search calendar display. With this flexible interface clients can choose to combine price, schedules and fare families to satisfy their needs. The solution available in multiple presentation formats such as xHTML and in 25 languages also supports Qantas’ international websites.

The Amadeus e-commerce solutions currently power more than 250 websites for over 90 airlines worldwide. These include Air Canada, Air China, Air France, BMI, Cathay Pacific, China Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Dragonair, EVA Air, Finnair, Iberia, Qantas and Singapore Airlines.
