Amadeus launches e-Ticket Server, the world’s first neutral electronic ticketing solution. Carriers of any size can now implement e-ticketing.
47,000 travel agencies and 8,200 airline sales offices in over 130 markets can reserve and ticket 469 airlines – over 95% of the world’s scheduled airline seats. They can also book 305 hotel chains and 50 car rental companies serving over 23,000 locations, plus newer providers like ferry, tour, travel insurance and cruise operators.
Amadeus announces its Initial Public Offering (IPO) in October and enters the IBEX-35 – representing Spain's top 35 listed companies – in December. The company is listed on the Madrid, Barcelona, Paris and Frankfurt stock exchanges.
New NMCs are open in Brazil, Kazakhstan, Thailand, Japan, Tunisia, Ghana and Zimbabwe.
