Over 102,000 travel agency and airline sales office terminals are now connected to Amadeus, which is increasingly recognised as the world’s number 1 system for international travel reservations.

After the launch of an NMC in India, Amadeus is the first active CRS on the sub-continent. It is used by 35 travel agencies in New Delhi and Bombay, and more Amadeus terminals are being installed in an additional 100 travel agencies.

Austrian Airlines becomes our 100th Amadeus Access carrier, selling its flights through the 47,500 travel agencies and 34,500 airline sales offices that are now connected to Amadeus worldwide.

In the US, Amadeus, Continental Airlines and EDS announce a joint venture to operate the airline’s System One CRS as a new Amadeus NMC.

For the second consecutive year, Amadeus wins Gold in the Top CRS category in the annual TTG European Travel Awards.

More new NMCs open in Austria, Croatia, Paraguay, Turkey and Spain.

The 3 Amadeus Access levels:
Standard Access is the most basic level, whereby an airline’s schedules are loaded onto the Amadeus system by file transfer or tape on a weekly basis.
Direct Access allows the travel agency subscriber to activate a real-time connection between the Amadeus central system and the airline’s inventory.
Amadeus Access provides continuous real-time interaction between the Amadeus system application and the airline’s inventory.
