69,000 terminals used by the majority of Europe’s automated travel agencies and in the worldwide sale offices of 64 airlines are working with the “easy to learn and easy to use” Amadeus GDS to generate an average of over 10 million bookings per month.

Amadeus is awarded Gold in the Top CRS category at the prestigious European Travel Awards, which are sponsored by TTG Europe. The award is based on feedback from travel agencies in 16 European countries.

Amadeus Negotiated Fares are introduced, making Amadeus the first central reservation system to provide a negotiated fares system that is fully integrated with its existing fare quotation functionality and ticketing process.

Amadeus continues its expansion by opening Latin American regional offices in Uruguay and new NMCs in Hungary and Uruguay.
