Claude Giafferri
Vice President, Managing Director Travel Office Products & Solutions
Claude Giafferri was appointed Vice President, Managing Director Travel Office Products and Solutions, a new business division, in October 2003. Based in Sophia Antipolis (France), Claude is in charge of developing and managing the existing Amadeus portfolio of products and services, providing point-of-sale solutions for all the Travel Office customers. The team consists of about 500 people around 4 main sites: Sophia Antipolis (France), Miami (USA), Antwerp (Belgium) and BadHomburg (Germany).
In August 2000, he was appointed Vice President Product Management, responsible for the medium and long term evolution of the Amadeus product range. The Product Management Division is responsible for the annual product plan. Product pricing policy and the elaboration of product business cases are also among his responsibilities.
On joining Amadeus in 1991, Claude held the position of Director, Central System Products, responsible for the definition of products related to the Amadeus Central System.
Prior to joining Amadeus, Claude was Head of Commercial Affairs, Product Planning and Development and Information Systems at Air France. He was responsible for managing the marketing of commercial applications and for the negotiation of computerised distribution agreements. He played an active role in coordinating the Amadeus project since its inception in 1986.
Claude began his career in travel with Air France, as a member of the Operations Research Department, following two years experience with the French Atomic Energy Commission, in charge of technical and economic studies of nuclear reactors. Claude graduated from the École des Mines de Paris in 1975 and followed this with a Master of Science from Stanford University in 1977.
