Frédéric Spagnou
Vice President, Airline Business Group
Frédéric is responsible for the management of Amadeus' Airline Business Group. This includes the coordination and implementation of business relating to Amadeus' Altéa suite of airline IT solutions, securing airline distribution contracts and overseeing the development of Amadeus' successful value-based pricing initiative.
Frédéric joined Amadeus in September 2002 as Vice President, Marketing, with responsibility for the corporate marketing and communication, quality and customer support functions as well as the Product Management Group. He has played a critical role in the company's Corporate Marketing area that has successfully defined and positioned Amadeus as the world's leading provider of IT solutions to the travel and tourism industry.
Prior to joining Amadeus, Frédéric held the position of Chief Operating Officer at Gemplus International, the world's leading provider of smart card solutions. Joining Gemplus in 1997 as head of Strategy and Business Development, he became head of the Europe Middle East and Africa region, and subsequently General Manager of several global business units spanning Europe, Asia Pacific and the US.
Before this Frédéric gained 10 years' experience transforming several high-tech multinational companies through challenging roles that involved restructuring and resizing the business to increase profitability. During his time as Vice President of the European Business Division of Apple Computers, he was responsible for leading the most profitable region of the company. Previous positions include CEO of France Telecom Group's Questel-Orbit - the largest European server for professional databases - as well as CEO of TéléConsulte, and consultant with KPMG Peat Marwick.
A French citizen, Frédéric graduated from the École Polytechnique, Paris and from the École des Arts et Métiers.
