The Amadeus Electronic Miscellaneous Documents Server (EMS) provides an electronic solution for airlines to issue, store, manage and distribute Electronic Miscellaneous Documents (EMD). EMD is an industry standard electronic document used to track the sale and usage of fees for services currently collected with paper MCO and excess baggage documents. Services sold on an EMD may be linked to a flight coupon - EMD-A (e.g. in-flight services, excess baggage, upgrade fees), or not- EMD-S (e.g. booking change fees, residual value, lounge access, voucher).
Our solution will enable you to be 100% compliant with EMD standards prior to the December 2012 deadline as demanded by IATA in December 2009.
The Amadeus EMD solution is fully integrated across the Amadeus Altéa Suite, including Reservation, Ticketing and Departure Control Systems.
The Amadeus EMD solution for airlines already supports online itineraries and by the end of 2010 will also support industry compliant interline EMD capability. Amadeus' ongoing investment commitment for EMD further guarantees the delivery of an evolving and flexible EMD solution for the Amadeus EMS airlines.
