The expanded long-term agreement provides more choices for Delta customers and travel agents to access the popular Economy Comfort seating when booking travel via Amadeus.

Air France, the French flag carrier and one of the world’s largest airlines, has adopted Amadeus Airline Ancillary Services (AAAS) to distribute its ancillary offering to travel agencies. As of the 5th of June, the solution is available in France where travel agents can now offer Seat Plus for their customers with EMD (Electronic Miscellaneous Document). Seat Plus enables travellers to book a seat with more legroom during long-haul flights*.

Amadeus in conjunction with Forward Data SL, a market research and consulting company publishing ForwardKeys.com, today unveil a range of travel data trends, based on actual global air reservations, which details the impact of the London 2012 Olympics. With approximately 50 days to go before the Games, the findings provide a country-by-country view of where visitors to London during the Olympics period are coming from. The data shows that booking figures for the Olympics period, made by 12 May 2012, are 13% higher than in 2011.

Southwest Airlines, the largest U.S. carrier in terms of domestic passengers boarded consistently ranked number one in customer service by the Department of Transportation (US), and Amadeus IT Group announced today that they have entered into a joint contract for Amadeus’ Altéa reservations solution that would support the carrier’s international service. Now that the contract is finalized, the two companies will work closely together to implement Amadeus’ technology to allow Southwest to operate international flights in 2014. AirTran Airways, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Southwest Airlines, currently serves international destinations. As the AirTran international flights transition to Southwest, Amadeus will support Southwest’s international flying.

Finnair, a major European airline carrying over 8 million passengers a year and with growth markets in Asia, has adopted the Amadeus Ancillary Services solution to distribute its ancillary programme in northern Europe. The service enables passengers to book their preferred seat in Scandinavia, Finland and Benelux, as well as extra baggage in Finland, both through Amadeus travel agencies and via Finnair’s direct channels, including the carrier’s website.
